A major donation for the development of children who are different
“We believe that our family Foundation has a responsibility to help children who are different”, says Terry Pomerantz, the primary administrator of the Pomerantz Foundation.
“This year, we have split the profits of the Pomerantz Foundation’s 2019 Annual Golf Tournament between the Center for Child Development and Mental Health of the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.”
The Center for Child Development and Mental Health of the JGH
The Child Psychiatry Program was launched at the JGH in 1967 under the direction of Doctor Ronald Feldman. At the time, it was the first child psychiatry department for hospitalized children at a general hospital in Canada.
Innovative Treatment Strategy
The treatment strategy established by Dr. Feldman is very avant-garde. Focused on the children and their family, its multimodal treatment not only involves the child’s participation, but also involves collaboration from parents, teachers, therapists, nurses and other health professionals.
For children between 3 to 12 years of age and their families
The Program is offered to all children from 3 to 12 years old and their family who reside in the Greater Montreal area, including Laval and Montérégie.
The members of its multicultural and multilingual team are very attentive to the needs of children and families from different communities and cultures, including visible minorities and members of the Orthodox Jewish community.
The Pomerantz Foundation: over $5,000,000 for children
Since its creation, the Pomerantz Foundation has donated more than 5 million dollars to over 30 non-profit organizations that help children in need and who are different.
The Pomerantz Foundation is managed by volunteers who are not receiving any pay or other compensation. Their involvement and dedication completely free the Foundation from the management and operational costs it should normally incur in its running.
All donations received by the Pomerantz Foundation are given in full to the non-profit organizations it supports.
Entrepreneur and prominent figure in Montreal's real estate and manufacturing sectors, Terry Pomerantz approaches every aspect of life with heart and character.
