The Pomerantz Foundation and Yaldei Developmental Center
Since its creation at the beginnings of the 1990s by Saül Pomerantz, the Foundation named after him has helped many non-profit organizations that work with children who are different. Now managed by his son Terry with the support of several volunteer professional managers, the Pomerantz Foundation tirelessly continues the mission assigned by its founder. The Yaldei Center is one of the numerous organizations supported by the Pomerantz Foundation.
The Yaldei Developmental Center
Yaldei combines a developmental centre and a school dedicated to the full development of children of all abilities.
Staffed by a multi-disciplinary team bringing together therapists and specialized educators, the Yaldei Center offers early intervention programs, individualized therapies as well as special education programs for children from birth to youth under 18 years of age.
These programs allow children to learn how to walk, talk, play, attend school and live as part of their community.
The Yaldei School
The Yaldei School offers special education to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, moderate to several intellectual disability, and profound intellectual disability. The classes are for children from preschool level to secondary 1 and instruction is given in the English language.
The Yaldei Clinical Services
The Yaldei Center has a wide range of therapies to help children entrusted into their care reach their full potential. These include oral motor therapy, music therapy, art therapy, ergotherapy, physiotherapy and ABA therapy.
The Yaldei Programs
The Yaldei Center also offers a therapeutic and play program for children of 6 years and under, a school support service and a day camp providing children with special needs a fun and educational experience.
$5,000,000 to help children
Since its creation, the Pomerantz Foundation has injected more than $5,000,000 to support, among others, organizations such as Yaldei that are dedicated to the development of children with differences.
Let’s emphasize that all the people who work in the management and operation of the Pomerantz Foundation do so as volunteers. None of them accept remuneration of any kind. Hence, thanks to their dedication and selfless involvement, all profits raised by the Pomerantz Foundation are donated in full to the organizations it supports.
